ONE PHOTO IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS
"The power of images in <historic and> modern communication is irrefutable. In the world of social media, visual content is 40 times more likely to get shared and quickly understood. ... Your visual communications efforts must be creative, striking, engaging, and memorable, and must effectively convey key messages."
https://www.pwc.com.au/the-difference/the-power-of-visual-communication-apr17.pdf

The photo combination, via layers, was presented in a gold and black frame to my Doctor's office with a package of OREO Cookies; a high-impact instantaneous in-your-face message. She was not at the office, but the two young ladies at the reception desk got the message at a glance and with great smiles and chattering, commented to me how much they loved it. [giggling].. they got the message instantly. I suggested the snack room is the place to mount it.

My choice is to not take Statin drugs, I do diet and exercise, LA Fitness is covered by my insurance. On Amazon 132 OREO cookies are $21; unfortunately, $57 a month for 360 OREOs a month is not covered by health insurance. No, I do not eat OREO.

This photo is meant to be thought-provoking, not medical advice, read the OREO special case technical article reference below while munching OREOs and sipping strong coffee with half and half high-fat cream.

The people involved in this 360 OREOs a month study as with you BassmanBruce developed finger callouses which caused one to have problems with picking his nose. Death by affixiation~!

The fact that in this study the OREOs were very effective compared to Statin drugs opens our thought doors to looking at the statistics and side effects of non-Keto diet humans; us normal so-so eating guys and gals who have that burger and fries once a week. Some medications save you from death by one cause, but increase the probability of other killer/disabling conditions such as diabetes and liver conditions to do the mortician's bidding. However, articles say such side effects are rare. Brits and US citizens take Statin drugs regularly to lower the risk of cardiovascular problems, but in continental Europe, Australia, and Scandinavian views differ. The BJM article says no significant improvements. Do what your chosen doctor tells you and you Mediterranean-diet people should continue drinking your Olive Oil with a red wine chaser as Mayo Clinic suggests. So "The Debate Goes On" as the hit Sonny and Cher song says. That is the debate my doctor and I have had several times... Remember Statin is big business

Statin like DSLR is a big business, a trillion dollars for big pharmaceuticals do the statistician stuff. No studies have been done regarding cardiovascular disease and the ownership of DSLR Nikon, Sony, or Canon Cameras. However, people who just use Point-N-Shoot cameras have less stress and so live longer... perhaps. It is true that using digital cameras there are no negatives, the main thing is to enjoy your photography.

Thought-provoking in two ways, the impact of the photo made more impact when two separate are combined into one hang-on-wall reminder "Dear Doctor Statins are pushed for $ and like the OREO claim, while true are not true in the general population." The first Statin brand she prescribed, caused me muscular pain, I reasoned my heart is a muscle so stopped... a year later... "OH, try this brand." I did and again muscular pain. Admittedly, my regimen since age 30... yikes for 58 years... now 88!... has been weights and cardio training, not the typical rocking chair great-grandpa.

For Photography and Pharmaceuticals consider this: Compare two camera images' noise levels by measuring the number of microscopic dots in one image with a special $100 filter vs one with a $40 clear filter. The special filter gave 1% microscopic dots vs the Low-cost filter gave 2%... the ad for the special filter claims 50% better image quality. Yep, 1% is half of 2% thus 50% better or 2% is twice 1% so it is 100% better to pay more. There will be no mention of color shift and distortion of lines... So, the general population will pay $60 more for a 1% invisible microscopic "improvement" that may distort the image. Ouch, even their muscles hurt when paying the extra money and their heart is a muscle.

Could the same statistical distortion be with our medicines? Yep ~!!! Doctors have to follow the recommended trends because we live in a litigious world... The general population does not care to nor can they understand reading and thinking about 20 medical journal articles. Old saying about statistics, "Lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Dpullum, Oreo was a knockoff of the original and popular Hydrox cookie.

"Oreo may have branded itself "milk's favorite cookie," but before its creation, there was actually another, more popular sandwich cookie on the market. Hydrox cookies debuted in 1908 and were briefly renamed "Droxies" from 1999 to 2003 after ownership passed to Keebler before they were removed from store shelves altogether, according to Leaf Brands. In 2015, Leaf Brands acquired ownership and rebranded the cookies. Back in 2018, Hydrox actually sued Mondelez, the makers of Oreo, for lost profits due to similarities between the products."

I vaguely remember the Hydrox cookies. Mr Hershey and the nuts embedded in chocolate had my sweet tooth focus.

Thank you for the history... I always enjoy "backstories." The "History Guy" on UT has some great stories.
