Nice shot!

Since moose and other cervids frequent woods and thickets having those big racks would seem to be evolutionarily inconvenient.

I hunted Elk for years. Those wide spread antlers look like they would be a pain in the azz in thick timber. But I can tell you for a fact that they can move quickly and silently through the thick stuff all day long!!
