After activation ... can the computer be offline ?
YES!
That's why I get the bundle, @ every other year.
I own them. Complete, standalone, fully functional.

Yes. Activation has no control over your internet connection and its workability. If you are asking whether Elements will work without an internet connection, therein lies the beauty of buying something one time, and having it based on your own computer. You can use it anytime your computer is working. This is true whether you ever connect to the internet again or not.

I have been using Elements for many years. I recently began using Elements 2024 for the one-month trial period. However, my desktop OS is seven years old and as a consequence cannot use the latest version of ACR. I know I can still perform the same edits without ACR, but the use of the sliders is so much easier. Have you experienced a similar problem?
As a side note, a "Fundamental Editing Checklist" for Elements is available at Photzy.com Also available are detailed instructions on the use of Elements for the editing of photographs. I haven't had a chance to use it but a quick review found that some of the recommendations are similar to what is suggested by Scott Kelby.

Have not installed yet.
Was on adobe chat asking about using the program offline after activation ... could not
get the agent to understand my question ... they kept telling me I had to have internet connection.
Got my answer hear pretty quickly.
Thanks
Elements bulked up over time. Recent annual editions streamlined to minimize using diskspace. Not all of the features install unless you use them or "activate" them. For example, you can download, install and register Photoshop Elements then use it offline. ACR won't work because not everyone wants it. Therefore, you need an internet connect to install that "extra" feature.
Without some extra work, I don't know what other features are like that. In Premiere Elements, there are a lot of extras like that.

Thanks for the info.
But once you install the ACR feature, it will keep working when offline ?

ACR will work offline, but it uses graphics acceleration and you need a compatible graphics card. Photoshop needs an Internet connection if you want to use the AI features like Generative Fill. It also needs to connect periodically to verify your subscription, but since Elements is a perpetual license, and to my knowledge does not contain any of the more sophisticated tools, you need no internet to run Elements.
I have PSE 18,21, and 23. If the computer is on,I can access, but if the Internet (wi-fi) is down, I cannot use all the editing tools.

Adobe chat agent may have been trying to say that you needed an internet connection to download the update?

There are also some relatively inexpensive online courses to teach about PSE. Another source is YouTube.
