Yes, unfortunately. Boeing is a perfect example. It switched its emphasis from safety to profit.
Because of that decision, it hasn't made a profit in years.

Boeing started 3rd party maintenance to bypass FAA regs.
"Certified" crew in a 3rd world country.
Faster turnarounds, cheaper, but more repairs.
Different accounting for better write offs.

In many cases, I can click on "Skip" so I don't have to watch a long ad. How much longer will that be available?

I watched an interesting video last night about how streaming has changed and how it will continue to change. The problem is that there are too many streaming services. They are adding commercials and raising their prices. Customers don't want that. The presenter predicted that the huge field of streaming companies will soon be reduced to a much smaller number.

One big problem I've noticed is that if I want to watch good shows and movies, I will have to sign up for half a dozen different services, and that would cost too much. Many people sign up to watch a particular series for a month and then cancel. Some services are making that more difficult and more expensive. Companies are finding ways to charge more without necessarily giving more. Amazon is adding commercials unless you pay more. It used to offer better video and sound, but that's now an upcharge. I've stopped watching Prime because of the frequent, long commercials. According to this video, streaming will cost more, have more commercials, and offer less.

No one is holding a gun to your head demanding you watch and waste time with that junk. Find something else to do. Learn to play the harmonica or accordion, take up painting, find a hobby.

This herd mentality that we must watch streamers just encourages the blighters. If enough people would make the choice to ignore this crap it would send these greedy pukes a message and eventually these streamers would return to watchable entertainment---and if we get real lucky, the content might actually revert to something of quality.

Thanks! I'm shopping for an accordion on Amazon today. I'll keep you updated.

A friend worked in maintenance for American Airlines in AZ. he said a lot of the work was being done in countries where the labor costs were lower. He was relieved when he was able to retire.

I agree with you that it's the customers that allow the companies to do what they do but Jerry already has lots of hobbies and projects to do. Besides, do your own thing. For example I never watch sports but I would not tell you to do that. Everyone if different.

Customers really don't have a choice, though. Their only choice is to buy what they want or do without. A choice would be having several cable services and streaming services in competition with one another. Right now, Netflix has no ads during movies, but that is very unusual. How long will that last?

It's not food or medicine. You can certainly do without streaming. It's definitely your choice. I do however respect your choice. I wouldn't tell anyone to choose differently just as I don't want anyone to tell me to choose differently.

That's why shoes and clothing come in different sizes.

Come on! Live without TV? Seriously?

I do a lot of laughing when I watch TV, and "Laughter is the best medicine."
