You don't see this stuff from the NBA....
Used to enjoy watching their antics.

How would well-known NBA players fare against Globetrotter folks in competitive action?
Has anything like that ever been arranged?
Great set doxphoto. Have not heard anything about them in a very long time.

Only reference I can find is The Harlem Globetrotters defeated the Minneapolis Lakers in 1948.
What wonderful set of everyone having fun. Tickets priced between $25 and $321. They used to appear on TV

Thanks, yeah.
There is that time when segregation was the name of the game in basketball, yes.
When the all-white Lakers championship winners, lost in a close score to the all-black Globetrotters, who were not as yet the recognized comedy/entertainment ball-handler show.
I see, I did a very poor job posing my earlier question.
In the most recent, say, 2½ - 3½ decades, have there been arrangements for well-known NBA members to have competitive expositions facing the Globetrotters?
I guess, not necessarily for team / league ratings or showdowns, but maybe just as a part of or extra to some of the Globetrotter events.
These are great shots of a great team. My dad was a big fan. He never took me to a game, but he went a couple of times (a really BIG deal, since we were dirt farmers!). I'm glad to know they still exist! Love the shots with the little kids.
Oh boy was that fun - brings back memories of when they came to our little, tiny town to play at our school. It seemed like we never stopped laughing the entire time. What a great memory - thank for posting.

👍
While the NBA players may be worrying about how many million $$$$$$$ they will be "worth" after the game, I dare say the Globetrotters have been a part of "worth" in the lives and memories of some disadvantaged and disabled people, (and able-bodied people as well)......."worth" that is well outside the range of $$$$$$$.
Wilt Chamberlin was a member of the Globetrotters before joining yhe NBA.
