It has been a number of years since I have posted on this site. I have never appreciated the trolls, but really look forward to the positive suggestions for improvement. My go to camera since 2019 was a D850 and I have just recently purchased a Z8. It has quite a learning curve, but I look forward to the positive suggestions in its use.
I was a senior pastor for 40 years and retired five years ago and Marilyn, my wife and I took up nature photography.

Welcome back. Post some of your photos. I don't like trolls either. They usually are only on the attic section. But sometimes they sneak into one of the other sections, then I block them and it gets quite again. I have an 850 and sometimes I think about upgrading to a mirrorless but it is doing everything I want it to and sometimes it surprises me. When I can see the veins in the wing tips of a bird in flight I am satisfied and the 850 can do that
I did wild life for a lot of years and sold them. I didn't make enough money to quit my day job but made enough to buy my photography gear. Now I've retired from everything except photography.
Welcome back and post some shots

I sell photos as well, enough to buy more equipment but not life supportive. We enjoy it anyway. Thanks for the note. It will be good to get to know you. My wife uses a D850 and absolutely loves it.

Welcome back! I got a Z8 a few months ago, and I agree, the learning curve is pretty steep (I have a D750, too), with all of the auto-focus modes and such. I got Steve Perry's guide for the Z8, and kind of made my own modifications to my setup from there.

I've been shooting a lot of wildlife in my backyard, and it has helped getting 'muscle memory' with switching auto-focus detection modes, ISO, and exposure compensation. I really like the location of the ISO and exposure compensation buttons.

Heading out to San Antonio this morning. Going to visit the Japanese Tea Gardens on the way to the Zoo.
