Not crazy about the color, but there’s no denying that the 63 was a nice, nice year especially the Impala hardtop. Thanks, Kim….

Nice.

That is the car my parents had (in white) when I graduated from high school (1964) and then joined the Air Force. It was their 1st new car.

Dad was still at the dealer, finishing paperwork, when I called him to get help pulling their new car out of a ditch.

Nice shot, Kim.

That’s one of my favorite issues of the Impala - nice angular lines and a hardtop! I don’t care for those wheels on that car, nor the nose down stance. GM had some really puky greens in their color palette, and that is one of them, or I think that’s one of the factory colors.

Don't care for the nose-down stance (or is it partly lowered?). If the driver were to get on it, the rear would probably be light and the tires could let loose. Maybe the driver is on the brakes? One of my favorite TV shows used to be "American Restoration" where the projects were expertly returned to stock condition!.

My 63 was the same color, but was a Super Sport with a 327

I think the "rake" was mostly a west coast thing and was cosmetic not performance oriented. It did however, as you said, make it easier to "light um up". Also it improved gas mileage because the car was always going down hill.

My wife had o '63 when we met. Hers was a red 4 door, with a 327 and a 4 barrel carb, and a slush box. Very nice car, but the gas mileage was not great.

The 1963 Chevy (tuna boats).

I loved that car when the kids started driving those to high school.
(Paid for as "Daddy Bought Cars")

Probably cost around $2.900 stripped down.

Metalic-blue was the favorite color for Chevy.
