iPod - Very Difficult

I have a couple of old iPods that I sometimes connect to my sound system to have music throughout the house. After trying for several days, I am unable to delete the Christmas music and add other music. Online directions are offer conflicting directions, but nothing works. One article even said that it's not possible to delete music from the iPod directly. The iPod shows up in iTunes, but I can't add or delete songs. I wonder why Apple made it so difficult to manage the iPod.

I tried an app called iFunBox that should make it easy to do what I want. It doesn't work. I could pay $35 to get a similar app, but that would be a waste of money.

I connected the iPod to the computer and copied songs to an iPod folder called "Music," but those songs do not appear in the iPod Menu. I'm not wasting any more time with this; I'm going to use and old cell phone instead.

If you use a cable to connect it to your computer, you should be able to able to add and remove music without trouble. I do that on my iPhone at least and I assume it’d be the same for an iPod

"...you should be able..." Those famous words. Actually, I did just that. I went into the iPod through the computer and deleted all the Christmas music. Then I added the music that I wanted. When I looked on the iPod, nothing had changed.

I haven’t ever done it on an iPod, but I just figure it’d be the same as an iPhone. I might be able to help you in person, but without being able to see exactly what’s happening, it’s sometimes kinda hard to know exactly what’s wrong. Possibly someone else understands the problem better and will be able to give you a solution

I believe you have to delete the music in iTunes then sync with your ipod

At this point, that Christmas music isn't in iTunes. I was just able to "Restore" the iPod to original condition - nothing is on it. Now, I'll try to copy songs to it.

Jerry, how do you get jammed up into so many problems? I'm just curious. It would drive me nuts.

Not really problems. Without them he would be so bored. He just bought so many things and the started using them when he has the time.

I do a lot of things. I like a challenge.

When I get this new clothes dryer set up and working, I'll tell you about that.

Does your outlet have correct power? Which make and model of your dryer?

Call the Apple support Number, 800-275-2273. I will be surprised if someone familiar with iPods can't help; plus its free.

Make sure that in your music setting on your computer in the iTunes dialogue box, is not selected to copy entire collection, but only checked lists and songs. Then you can select which playlists, artists and songs you would like to sync to your iPod.

Do not delete the songs from your iTunes as they will forever be gone.
Month would also check to make sure that you have updated your iTunes software and the latest version that your iPod will accept. Some older iPods do not accept the newest software developed for the newer models, however, the functionality that you are looking for should not be in question, no matter what version you are using.

When you so sync, does it complete the stance or just hang?
