Good looking truck, great color and an excellent photo

Why would anyone put all that money into a 53 truck. It has minor custom job, a good paint job and expensive wheels and, no doubt from the look of the exhaust, the engine has had some work on it and more than likely the interior has had some work. After all that work and all that money poured into it you still have a 1953 Chevy RST truck. What's the point?

You're kidding with this question...right? He may have wanted this truck all of his life. Perhaps his dad had one when he was a kid. Perhaps he had a model of this truck as a kid and always lusted after it. Maybe he likes the shape... There are a MILLION reasons why someone would pour all that money into a '53 truck! The "point" is that the owner obviously loves and takes great pride in this beautiful pickup truck as he should. I'm with him and more power to him!! Nice shot, Kim!

An excellent answer. The first car that I had fairly exclusive use of was a '54 Chevy 4door that my mother owned. It was the simple, unadorned, plain DelRay model, often called the "210". It was almost milk chocolate brown, had seat covers over the worn out original upholstery and repaired floor boards inside. I loved that car. I have often daydreamed about having another and restoring it. Unfortunately, I do not have the financial assets to do that. However that does not mean I would not do it if I could. Nostagia and memories have a way of guiding us through life.

Of course I'm kidding, the smiley face didn't go with the post. When I was in high school a friend and I customized a 1943 Mercury from the front bumper to the back bumper. It had twenty coats of titian red paint and five of a protective coat We showed it at many shows, featured car in Motor Trend and Car Craft. I do know what it's all about
