Could anybody tell me what the peoples choice winner is ?
I can`t work out what it is, it is supposed to be a photo taken on a walk on a specific time and date, these walks were world wide.
I viewed all the entries and there were some outstanding photos, some straight out the cameras but many were photoshopped sooo much.
Has anyone looked at this comp and what do you think of the results, I would be pleased to hear your input.

It is a wall sconce photographed from the underside looking up. Concentrate on the center of the image, see the photog's face and small compact camera in her hands? The lines which resemble those on a globe are the tile grout line reflections, much like a fisheye lens would make.

Well worked out, now I get it, but there were so many better photos than that one, and the voting scores are a bit strange.
The first runner up had over 4 times that photos votes ?

It is a 'people run' type of event/judging from what I can read. On its whole,I think its a great idea to get a bunch of people you might not know in your area together just to make images. as for the judging, I have zero insight. Have a great day.

I had to join up and entered in the one in Benalmadena Spain, There were about 25 people from newbies to semi pro, it was good to meet up.
It lasted for about an hour and a half and you could walk around the town looking for good shots.
The leader said we could submit six shots and he would put them up on his site for us to see.
Also there was a link to submit your best shot to, I wrongly assumed this was going into the comp, but it just went to the walk leader and they picked out one to submit to the comp.
I don`t think I will enter next year, but i did enjoy the walk around taking loads of shots I wouldn`t normally bother with, ;-)

She contacted more people to vote, I would have placed a shot like that in my junk folder. Maybe someday I could use part of it. Anyway looks like the winner just had better PR then all the others

I too enjoyed the walk and meeting new photogs, didn't care about the posting of shots got a lot of shots to use for backgrounds and such and a little exercise.

The only "photo" in that is PhotoShop, and as others have mentioned, she must have had more friends voting. If that image was captured in a photowalk, she must live in a different world than the rest of us, last time I saw a landscape that warped was back in the '70s with a little help from peyote.

Don Rent said it. The photo says nothing to me, but maybe with peyote, who knows?

Sorry but I don't like the winner, it more photoshop than a photograph, so much for a photography cometition.

I did it in San Mateo, CA. It was an enjoyable experience, but I'm guessing it was someone's idea of increasing the market for their book by letting folks think they might be published. I enjoyed the experience and met some nice folks, though.
