With replies like this, it's no wonder this site is waning.
If you don't want to help why don't you just ignore the post.

Or better yet, put the “poster” on your ignore list.

With posts like this it's hard to make an intelligent reply since we have no idea what the post is regarding.....

I have a new Canon Speedlight EL-5 that has battery issues. I have tried conditioning the battery to better hold a charge but it didn't do much good.

When I first got it, It discharged to the point where it wouldn't even power-up. B and H promptly replaced it.
The replacement, self-discharged quickly and in a few days it is diminished to just over 80%. Then I sent the battery back to Canon and they replaced it. That didn't help either. Now, I have to anticipate its use and recharge it every time.

There is something very wrong with Canon's design or quality control. I keep looking for a firmware update or customer support advisory but there isn't one. I guess I'll have to spend almost $110.00 for a spare battery.

I also have a Godox 860 which holds a charge for months. Great batteries are certainly possible. Cnon chages top prices for their batteries so they should be good ones.

Carl, battery charging is the least of your issues.

Because Carl has a history of cryptic questions and it’s fun to troll him.

Charging or how long the battery lasts?

I for one have noticed that the batteries don't last as long....I go through them a lot faster.

I'm so glad it uses the same battery as my T7i.

Define what you mean by "issues".
