My initial impression is the scene isn't conducive to b&w, both for the tonal range and the number of small details overall. I took a screenprint of your color and ran it through the presets of Nik Silver Efex, along with trying some color filters to enhance one or more of the greens, blues and red. Nope, it just doesn't speak to me without color
