I never get to see baby birds in the yard (juveniles, but not new babies). A few years back I had the rare opportunity to see and photograph a mother chicadee and her new babies.
[The little nails they put in birdhouses do not stand up to the weather. You can see in the pictures that the birdhouse is separating from the roof. I was afraid the house would fall and the baby birds would be eaten by something. Luckily that did not happen. Now, if I buy a birdhouse I will drill some holes and put in a few screws to reinforce it. Of course you could build your own]
This Spring, I should find a good spot to position a birdhouse so it's accessible for photos.
