There was a case in London (UK) just a few years ago where a woman was so busy looking down at her phone she walked into the road and a cyclist collided with her. The cyclist was kept in hospital for a few weeks.
The woman SUCCESSFULLY sued the cyclist for damages and left him bankrupt.
Strange how our courts are operated these days!!
I think I remember this. Just got this feeling that it was at a pedestrian crossing and the cyclist ran the red light. She wasn't looking (which didn't help) but here, once you have right of way (zebra crossing, green man on light controls etc.) the pedestrian has right of way.
