I was at the grocery store the other day and a kid walked into me and gave me a look that told me to watch where I was going. It is no wonder so many kids are kidnapped they have no idea what's going on around them

I love it. A couple years ago we were at Leadville CO and a kid walked into the river, never did find his phone.

Half term here last week. There a holiday activity session being organised in a room adjacent the Badminton courts.

Some neighbours and me play pickleball (on the badminton courts) and it was like walking through a minefield trying to get to the courts as most of the kids were sprawled all over the corridor on phones / tablets.

Very true.
There was a case in London (UK) just a few years ago where a woman was so busy looking down at her phone she walked into the road and a cyclist collided with her. The cyclist was kept in hospital for a few weeks.
The woman SUCCESSFULLY sued the cyclist for damages and left him bankrupt.
Strange how our courts are operated these days!!

I think I remember this. Just got this feeling that it was at a pedestrian crossing and the cyclist ran the red light. She wasn't looking (which didn't help) but here, once you have right of way (zebra crossing, green man on light controls etc.) the pedestrian has right of way.

I'm sure that no one here remembers ... why should they ... but last year I posted a photo of my completely ravaged face. A young mother walking in the opposite direction from me was pushing her stroller while looking at her phone. She abruptly turned the stroller right into me, causing me to trip and smash my face on a grating. (That shine you see is the antibiotic cream I smeared on)
