I’m looking for a recommendation for someone to CLA my vintage Nikkormat FTn. I believe the meter will need attention as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

CLA might help reduce body fat deposits and improve immune function. The average diet supplies 15-174 mg of CLA daily. People commonly take CLA by mouth for weight loss. It is also often used for bodybuilding and fitness, but there is limited scientific evidence to support these uses.

Overview
The second-most affordable car in the Mercedes lineup, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLA is a small four-door sedan with a sleek coupe-style look. A fastback roofline signals sporty intentions, and with more than 400 horsepower, the CLA can indeed get sporty. Inside, the CLA delivers the features, tech and classy feel that buyers expect from Mercedes. A budget Benz, this is not. For 2024, the CLA does some catching up, adding new standard features and more power to boost its appeal alongside capable rivals. The vibrant new Hyper Blue color is also a welcome splash in an otherwise monochromatic palette.

A worthwhile CLA would cost more than the camera is worth.
I certainly understand but I still want to look into it and thanks!

It may be necessary to swap a part or two to fix the meter. The contact between the shutter ring and something inside was known to wear out. It has been mentioned on this forum, and it happened to me with the same camera. The result in my case was the metering needle jumping around with the slightest movement of the shutter ring. I didn't bother to have it fixed. It was a great camera for its time when it worked properly, but I had moved on from it.
But I'm still interested in some answers to your question. I may (or may not) have a CLA done on my Nikon FTn, my first real camera, a going away to college gift from my father. I don't use it any longer, but it worked perfectly that last time I used it.

And if the metering problem is "jumpyness" then the resistor ring is geffahkte und kaput, quite a common Nikkormat affliction. Pre-AI models required the user to "abuse" the ring when swapping lenses.
Theres also the battery problem. Its a really good camera without the meter. There is a meter hiding in your phone and it also takes pretty decent pictures too !

Not really. There are adaptors that let you use 1.55 volt silver oxide batteries in place of the 1.35 volt mercury batteries used in that camera and others. The Nikkormat FT2 put a voltage regulator in the camera so that you could use alkaline or silver oxide batteries. The FT3 added AI. I had one of those too. My son in-law uses it or claims to use it.

Bottom line: Do beware the battery problem. Check whether your specific model applies. And if the meter fails, just ignore it and you dont need to worry about batteries anymore.
To CLA a Nikkormat with a sketchy meter is just a waste. There are newer old film era Nikons needing good homes. If you need a "battery adapter" thaz a sure sign that you really need a newer old camera anywho.
Or better yet, everyone can send me their ailing cameras and their CLA funds and I will properly dispose of both.

Yes if I have a camera which the meter needs mercury battery I would use it meterless. More fun that way. Besides those substitutes run out quickly and expensive.
