Perhaps you're leaping to a conclusion, Rix. This is a permission slip for the child to attend a school sponsored supplemental program. Could it be that all supplemental programs, no matter what they are, require permission slips and this one just happens to be the reading of a book written by a black author?

There can be no reason for the teacher to insert that the book was written by a b***k A******n other than to create controversy. This is just the type of crap that Rix feeds on.

Black history month is just stupid and should be disbanded. Even Morgan Freeman thinks Black History Month is ridiculous.

The teacher, a personal friend of mine was instructed what to write so that parents would be forewarned when their child came home. There have been incidents in the past where the parents were up set. This school is predominantly Spanish-speaking families.
