Actually TWO more.
My daughter-in-law saw a shirt with rabbits on it that she really liked and though I wanted to paint one like it for her, I had to change it quite a bit so as not to be copying someone else's design. I meant to show it as well and last night, she asked if I ever did. Glad she reminded me. I really enjoyed painting that one.
There are no brown streaks on the back of the shirt. Those are shadows made by the folds.

The other one is one like I used to paint for customers, with their horses, dogs, cats or whatever they wanted in the Tic Tac Toe squares.

You should illustrate children’s books. Really nice work.

Thank you so much Earnest. I wish I could paint all day, full time, like I used to.

Me too, I loved painting portraits and only portraits, mostly for family and friends, I never wanted to make a career out of it, I did it at my own pace. Anyhow age caught up with me and my hands can
no longer hold a paint brush steady anymore, so I stopped about 15 years ago, now at 81 I miss it. Here is one I did in 1980.

Being able to capture the likeness of a person is truly a gift. I could draw things but I could never draw someone’s likeness true to form.

That's GREAT Earnerst. I am thankful that I can still paint at 86 but I hate that I am so much slower than I used to be.
It's strange how different artists like to paint different things (always what they are best at). I was never good at portraits. I always loved painting animals, flowers, birds, landscaped and still like. I still like painting horses more than anything else, but that's because I fell in love with horses at 3 years old, lived in the city, so I couldn't have a pony. I guess I just decided that if I couldn't have one, I'd just draw and paint some...1st wall mural at 4 years old...ponies and puppies...got spanked!!!!

Earnest is talented. Like you, I never did well with painting people. Same as photographers, we all like different subjects.

Thank you, Jo. The first portrait I did was a pencil drawing of actor John Derrick when I was about 8 years old.

I still have 2 paintings I did when I was 8. My mother thought painting was a waste of paper but she save those two and framed them. They hung in her dining room until she passed away.
