Yes and I can say the same for my Z6ii and Z7ii refurbs (direct from Nikon USA)...amazingly new condition, not a scratch, works fine now for over a year/6 months respectively, zero shutter counts upon receipt. Also great experience with KEH camera with used F mount lenses, all in EX+ condition.

Both of the sources you quote sell used equipment not refurbished equipment.

If you've been considering a Nikon Z, don't wait till Day 5. Refurbs are my first choice, and I have never been disappointed.

I couldn't say it any better. Normally, buying a new Nikon camera, for example, would give you a one-year warranty. If I'm not mistaken, the refurbished camera would give you only 90 days and if you think it is worth it, then go for it if the "savings" is decent. I would think that if the camera gives no problems first 90 days, you are most likely good to go. I've purchased a few Nikon lens refurbished and NEVER EVER was there a problem. I believe the Nikon new lens gives you a 3-yr warranty if you register it and if refurbished, I think perhaps 90 days. But, as CHG_CANON has wisely said, if the money savings is good, then again, go for it. I'd also think that if after 90 days of no problem with the lens, the odds are you'll have none afterward.

I checked online and the warranty is only 90 days. Not sure if it's really worth the savings. Canon has 1 year on their refurbished camera equipment.

Yes, correct, and also there is only a 14 day return policy if returned as received (with RMA number from Nikon). So, what that means is, if you order refurbished cameras and lenses from Nikon, is to unpack it as soon as received, and inspect everything. Items are usually packed generically in plain white or brown boxes - no retail box - don't expect one. Each item is wrapped in bubble wrap, and the package as a whole is well cushioned. Recharge the batteries and check that everything works as expected. Put the camera/lenses through the paces and make sure all modes work. Get a shutter count on the first image - should be low or zero on a refurb product (does not apply to a Z8/9 as there is no mechanical shutter for exposure - make sure the protective shutter works though.) If something seems not right within the first few days, call Nikon to get an RMA replacement. Save all the packing material for at least the warranty period 90 days. I wish they would extend that to 180 days at least. I heard that at one time Nikon did not offer any warranty on refurbs, but don't know if that is true.
