Anyone heard of HoverAir?

I stumbled across this on (of course) Facebook. Has anyone heard of a company called HoverAir? They have a drone-type camera that you can apparently push a button and have it take off to take your picture from the air. It looks like it folds up to quite small. It has a $399 price tag on it, so not a "toy" but I've never seen this and just wondering if any of you might have run across it. Curious as to whether it might be categorized as "fun and it works" or "a waste or time and watch for amputated fingers" kind of thing. Here's a link to their website: https://thehover.com/products/hoverair-x1-self-flying-camera-combo?variant=46001310007581

I wouldnt expect much. In this game, $399 is still a toy, even if other toys may be cheaper.

I want to buy a HoverAIR X1. Reviews and YouTube demonstrations are very good. The only thing stopping me is that I have two drones already!

This is one of many on YouTube that shows and explains how it works.

I have one drone, also, a Mavic Air 2, but this looks much smaller and might be good to travel with. I don't travel with the Mavic Air as it takes time to stop, start the controller, start the drone, get it in the air, take the photo, then reverse all that. This looks like you turn it on, it takes off, and it's fast. I'll take a look at those videos on YouTube.

My Mavic 3 Classic takes about 3 minutes to get into the air and take a photo. It's a lot more expensive than $399 though.

It looks to me that the HoverAIR X1 can qualify in Category 1. It is under 250 grams and the props are guarded.

Seems like everywhere I go is see "No DRONE ZONE." This is true of every county and state park I visit. Once upon a time, I thought "Wow! this would be fun!" Not so much nowadays.

That’s exactly why I don’t travel with a Mavic air anymore. Plus most people do not take kindly to drones anymore, because so many people have flown them irresponsibly.

Where in "crowded Florida" do you live? It might be a fun exercise to paste in a map of where you can operate a drone.

My take is different. As they become more common in the retail system, people are curious. I've had a lot more people want to ask questions than be confrontational.
