My Hedgehoger family,
For those who have been active members of this forum for a good while I have a question. Have any of you recalled having any scammers in this forum and if so, can you elaborate on what you found/noticed?

Early last year, or not sure, maybe it was in 2022 sometime, there were two of those phishing "ads" in two different threads, posted about one minute apart.
You know the kind of ads:
"I earn $25,000 per week, and I only have to work ten minutes a day......blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.....and I will share with you my incredible secret of success, so you too can fire your boss and begin bringing in the kind of money you've always deserved, but no boss will pay you, because you're better than your boss."
They were from the same "new user" who had joined that same morning. They were the only posts from that "new user".
I sent a PM to ADMIN, giving the threads where the ads were showing, and asked if that newly joined new user was legit.
In about 20 or 30 minutes, those ads were nowhere to be found in UHH, and that user profile could not be located.

A proper ADMIN move if there ever was one!

A few years ago, we had a period when there were "questionable" posts from brand new users. The posts were very suspicious, and several of us wrote to Admin via PM to bring our concerns to him. Before we knew it, those new users and the posts were no longer here.
As I recall, there was a similar situation in Steve Perry's Back Country Gallery Forum. Same action taken by members as well as Steve. Voila, problem solved!

I'll make a guess those who do that keep "testing the waters".
If swift action is taken to remove questionable posts and the originating profile, that may convince most of them the site is too well monitored to be worth their effort.

I always read the Members/Buy and Sell.
I was always wary of “Members” selling stuff who had only joined days before.
I cannot say I have seen any scammers posting, but I have noticed a few ads that seem to be more "click bait" than a legitimate advertisement.
