Have the canon R100 as my car camera. Used it some this week, but it set with no battery in it for a couple of days. When I turned it on I got the message that it was overheating and shut down!! Any thoughts on how to fix this or best to send it to Canon for repair?

thanks for your help/

Could the temperature inside the car have caused the over heating? Take the camera inside and allow it to reach room temp. Then see how it works.

Not much info there. Based on info thus far, just send it in. But more info might change that (or not).

Don't have any more info. Did not overheat while in use, temps were in the 40's so not a concern. Some thing must be stuck so will send it in.

thanks for your time.

Wouldn't it make more sense to call the 800 number for Canon technical support and discuss the issue with them?
