3-7 inches of heavy wet snow in various parts of the city and 'burbs.
The first of that depth in over two years.
Maybe the groundhog meant after this one.
But just think how clean the streets and pavement will be when it melts and runs off giving them a good wash.
In NYC that should last at least a day or two before going back to normal.
Don't look like they are having fun David!

A great shot.
I love the contrast of the carefree “walk” sign with the heads down trudge of the pedestrians, bravo!
You captured the mood perfectly!
Nice work catching the snow!
In the later '60's, I was in the city on a business trip. One of the worst snow storms they had seen in a long time set in....lasted over a week. The cabs were on a strike. The demand for limo's was so strong that I was seldom able to get one. I had to walk 15 blocks from the hotel to my destination for the whole time I was there....and it snowed the whole time I was there. I'm a Southern boy...never been so miserable in my life.
I'll stay put here in sunny Florida ! Great shot!

I spoke with my sister today and she said the streets are already clear, we'll have to see if Phil's prediction holds up!

A lot of times, photos like this work better in black and white, but this time, the color is perfect, contrasting the gaily lit food stand with the miserable pedestrians. Nice work!
