Last summer I had the opportunity to photograph a team roping competition at a local ranch. Here are some of those images which I am sure you will agree show the ladies are competing on a level playing field with the men. The images also show what incredible athletes the horses are.

The participants. All were winners but overall winners shown with trophy buckles. I had such a good time, I count myself as a winner also.

hobie 33, No. 1 is my favorite: Both genders roping, fully trained quarter horses, rope in full loop before hitting the steer, expert riders/ropers, correct speed setting on the camera, and good lighting. Nice work on the group photo, too.
Thank you for your kind words. I am looking forward to the next opportunity to photograph local athletes of all types.
Great action. Excellent set!

In the first five seconds, I would have had the rope around my OWN neck... Superb captures of the action, energy, and color πππ
Super action shots. Nice work.
Nice rodeo spots--congratulations!
These are great pictures. Team roping is one of my favorite sports to photograph. Being in the right place is the key! I once got run over when they turned the calf a bit shorter than expected!
Great action series, Hobie.
Wow, very nice set! That couldn't have been easy to photograph.
A very enjoyable action series. Well captured.
