My big seed cake feeder was suddenly almost empty so I put "Bird Seed Cake" on the shopping list. While here on the computer with the door open for fresh air on this sunny warm So Cal winter day I glanced out the door and solved the mystery. By luck, I had my R7 with 100-400 on top of my printer "just in case".
R7, RF 100-400 @ 400, 1/1250, f/8, ISO-1600 hand held at about 40 feet.
I'm just making sure the seeds are fresh for my bird friends, honest!!!

Yes, he looks funny enough to make you laugh until you cry, but does the thumb up mean you believe him?

My dogs like fat squirrels, they can get closer when they chase them away from the feeders.
The local family of Coopers Hawks probably like them also.

You have the little darlings also?

Mine don't sneak much, except when the hawks are on patrol.
The Coopers must be nearby. No small birds or squirrels in the yard and it isn't our dogs, they are both sound asleep under my desk.
