A wife's eulogy at her husband's funeral: "Norman needed a blood
transfusion, but his blood type was not on record, so the doctors
asked me if I knew what it was. They urgently needed to know, to
save Norman's life. Tragically, I had never known his blood type, so
I only had time to sit and say goodbye. I'll never forget how
supportive my Norman was. Even as he was fading away, he kept on
whispering to me, "Be positive, be positive!" That was my Norman!
Always thinking of others."
Using big words can kill you! "B plus" would have done the trick (but killed the joke)!
Fortunately, both my wife and I aced our blood tests with "A+" 😁

Interesting.
I would never refer to it as B-plus or B-minus, only B-positive or B-negative.

Well, I guess getting a B-minus on your blood test isn't as impressive as an A-plus! Pity the poor folks who flunked theirs - a 0, whether plus or minus, is not to be boasted of.
And look what happened to the guy in the joke! (Make sure your loved ones know your type! 😉)

By the way, in case someone thinks I'm a little off the wall, i know the types and their importance. I had a girlfriend whose mother was given the wrong type blood and suffered from it for the rest of her days. 😢 (This was back before suing the medical profession was even thought of.)
...It would be nice if that information was put on your driver's license... Yes, it would require everyone to get a quick blood test, but only once. My license already has a lot of other information, so just a AB+, or AB- wouldn't be a distraction... And I know several people who don't drive, and have a non-driver's license to use it as an ID and some states have set. This is from Google: The REAL ID Act is a federal law passed by Congress after Sept. 11, 2001, that establishes specific minimum federal standards for state-issued driver's licenses and ID cards to be accepted for certain federal purposes, like entering a federal building or boarding a domestic commercial flight. Enforcement of the REAL ID Act begins on May 7, 2025.

I can imagine the response of people if told you have to get a blood test before a drivers license. Many people already believe Real ID is part of a government plot and the belief has delayed the implementation of real id multiple years.
