I would like to know how the composition is in these pictures. Also I did some post editing do you think they look ok or did I mess them up?
Taken with a Canon G12. The tire swing: ISO 80, F4.5 1/500. Pumpkins: ISO 80, F4.5, 1/400.
The rose: ISO 320, F2.8, 1/250.

I like the composition in 2 the best and since you edited you might take a little of the glare off the tree to warm it up a bit and show the texture of the bark. The dew or droplets on your rose look a little unnatural I'm guessing from something in your edit. The tire swing is pretty good just might play with crop a little to make the comp more interesting. Thanks for posting.

Thanks billyzee. I have elements 9. If you are familiar with it could you tell me how to take the glare off the tree and warm it up. I didn't like the way the tree looked either.

I use cs5 and have not used elements but I'm pretty sure elements has many of the tools available in cs5. There will be a couple of ways to do it so I'll pull it into ps and see what works best and then I can tell you what I did. Thanks for allowing me to edit. I'll post in a bit

I like #1, I do wish that crazy left/twig wasn't in the top left corner. All the images needs is a little POP in photoshop and it would stand out. Exposure needs to be upped, some curves added and a little pop to the colour and BOOM an eye catcher.

#2 - Honestly this one does nothing for me (don't take that personally). I'm wishing the whole wheelbarrow was in the image. The colours look dull and flat. Nothing really holds my interest (remember my opinion and a buck will get you nothing at the corner store).

#3 - Reds are hard, here the center of the rose, the reds look blown. The colour is to strong. I have a hard time with reds, so it's something my eye notices cause I'm working hard to at least get a grasp on it. Tone down the colour saturation and see what it looks like.

I think the tree looks a little better. Image>Adjust>Shadows/Highlights>Shadows slider to 0 and Tonal width to 0. Then Highlights slider to 15% and Tonal width slider to 58% then Midtone contrast to +8. Then went to Curves and did slight adjustment. Slight Smart Sharpen under Filters and that's it.

I don't think any of these are "O.K." I think they are outstanding. The tire would be my favorite.

billyzee I found out how to just adjust part of the picture. Do you think this helped?
