In spite of my nefarious reputation, I'm proud to say that I am a man of my word. I told Chief that the car was his and let us all recognize it to be officially so.

You're the Man, Tom!!

This is a one-off 1954 Buick RM-Landau. It was built by General Motors for the GM Motorama Show circuit. At the conclusion of that tour, as with all cars built for such a purpose, it was scheduled for destruction. However, the president of GM at that time, Harlow Curtis, issued a stay of execution. It was used to ferry top level executives around for a year and then was saved again by a top Buick executive who bought the car for himself.

It is powered by a standard Buick Fireball V8. There is a powered section of the roof, hidden by that cover, that can extend upward to isolate the passenger section. There is also an electric window that will rise to separate the front of the interior from the rear area.

I'm going to have to assume that what you said here was in jest and not a serious evaluation of those (me) with claims to great beauty as children, continuing into adulthood. And, in my case, on into kinda old age!
I'm here to inform you that women of all ages swoon when I come into a room. And have been doing so for as long as I can remember. It's a gift and a curse! A curse because it's not just women! Dogs, cats, mongooses, three toed sloths, red capped capuchins even, and they are well known for being stand offish!
Now, I'm going to state categorically, that I'm a gentleman. So I have only very rarely taken advantage of my unearthly beauty. But, rest assured, when someone/something has experienced the benefits of yielding to my charms...well, I should probably leave it there! As I said, it's a gift and a curse!
And the car is mine! Tom said so!

Well, that's certainly possible! But I like to think that every word of it is absolutely true!

I've always been a Buick fan. I've been to many car shows and viewed numerous car show videos; never have I seen this magnificent model! Thanks for posting. B.U.I.C.K.= Built Using Intense Care & Knowledge. Nothing rhymes with Buick because nothing runs as smooth as a Buick.
On one exceedingly cold, windy day I arrived at our high school parking lot with 13 other students packed in my 1958 Buick Special; five up front and eight in the back. Back when some students walked almost a mile to school and girls had to wear skirts.

I appreciate you stopping by. Your story brings back some really great memories. I graduated from H.S. in 1959. I had been given my mother's 1957 Chevy when she got a '59 Chevy. The '57 was a Bel Air 2 door hardtop, power pack option, stick shift. I'd love to have that car today.
