Our camera club had an outing to a Hindu Temple not far from where I live. When the sun went down and the lights came on, I could not help breaking out the push-pull zoom. This one is a five second exposure and i stopped several times during the zooming. Then I added a touch of plastic wrap filter from PS.

The image, color duotone, and effect are eye-compelling. Vanishing point construction, and even when covering the right half of the photo with my hand...

The look up of plastic filter effect I found these:

Interesting links; but I was using the plastic in PS just to give a bit of shine to the highlights. I did not want heavy plastic texture so I toned the filter down quite a bit with the provided sliders.

Really nice results. I am willing to bet the other camera club members went the traditional route when the shot the temple.

Thank you. Tripods are not allowed here so I had to rest the camera on a ledge. Glad you enjoyed the effect.

I did a lot of "traditional" myself; but in the end, could not help myself. lol

The colors and light are engaging. I think a closer crop would make a very pleasing abstract. You sure have this technique perfected, Erich!

I would not say perfected; but I'm getting a bit better at it. I don' t like that the top of the dome is slightly cut off. Even in the zoom blur, you can tell that is a mistake. So, your idea of a tighter crop might work out. Then lots of things would be cut off; but they would not come across as a mistake, just a photographer's choice. HMMMM? Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try it.
