Watkins Mill is the Oldest Woolen Mill east of the Mississippi, located outside Lawson Mo.
The Farm was est.1839 and the mill 1859,
The property was self sufficient suppling everything the workers needed in everyday life.
While the images are dark this is as close as I remember the day being, 3.10.2010 Dark, dreary cold and very wet .
It rained the entire week I was there to help a new Fleet mgr. get the buses through the Missouri School bus inspection.
Nice series, I would have loved seeing it in operation.
Great set, I really like the treatment.

Thank you Alberio
They do give tours during the summer months. But alas the boiler and engine are no longer safe for operation.

Nice series, but it's not the oldest woolen mill east of the Mississippi. There were colonial mills in New England in the 1700's and the Woolrich mill in Pennsylvania started in 1830 and has continued producing woolen goods to this day.
Very nice mood in the pics.
Nice images, Frank. It looks very dark, almost scary dark.
