Pardon the pun.
These are a few of my favorites from my first full session with the Velvet 56mm. I got a bit tired of the almost clinical perfection of many of my lenses and decided to try something different, so I picked up a used Lensbaby for a song. The first few pictures didn't come out well, but there was just enough there for me to give it a second try. So I took it to the pond.
I also took my 55mm macro (Nikon, adapted to my Sony cameras) to compare the similarities and differences between the almost-macro Lensbaby and a full 1:1 macro.
I found that I like a slight over-exposure with the Lensbaby.
I don't know if anybody is still watching this section, but I thought I'd post my experiences with my new toy.
I mostly just loved the colors with this one.

The glow is exactly what I hoped for from the lens.

The lens emphasizes shape and form within the composition, since a lot of detail disappears.

Denser subjects work, too.

Again, the colors.

The 55mm macro can achieve some of the same effect, though there's much less glow. I think in part that's because the macro tops out at f/2.8, but I think the deliberate flat field and sharpness of the lens also contributes.

Lensbaby as a great lens and was the Gotta-have-one fad... your beautiful/technically-interesting images exemplify why they were so sought after.
Then like Godzilla stepping on Bambi, resounding music cord, there came freeware:
