Saw this on one of my Facebook pages, I’d owned several Vw’s in my younger days but have never seen one quite like this one. Have anyone ever seen anything like this before??

Is everything okay with that picture?
The driver side wiper arm looks to be about an inch, or maybe a tad longer, with some odd something or other a little higher up on that side front glass.
What is the flap, or whatever, sticking up a bit at the top rear?
Where are the seat backs for the front seats?
IF that was a REAL model of some kind, was it a European model of a predecessor to the VW station wagon?
What was that station wagon called.....the VW Squareback?
Wow Dustie, I believe you have uncovered a fraud. I think this is either an AI image or a well done post processing effort.

You wont get any argument from me......it just doesn't look right.
Some creative custom body work
may be a possibility, I suppose........but........??

I know nothing about the photo, but it looks to maybe be a pre seatbelt model? The flap is something on the back wall. Your guess is as good as mine.

Other things to look at: The right hand outside mirror is wrong, there is a bulge above the front passenger seat among other things

The part behind the rear edge of the door looks like a '50's Citroën, or something.......(but still can't place that flap, or whatever, at the top rear.)
There are reflections from top and side, but does that explain the weird look from the circled area and toward the rear?

And these in blue
Yeah,.....someone was having fun with AI processing, probably.
The top of the door window even looks suspect.
Are the Beetle windows that flat on the top edge......more curved, aren't they?

Well......I don't have a good handle on the skinny on the oddities we've mentioned in this picture.......but.....
....I didn't find another photo of this particular rig among these

....but there are enough other customized ones scattered through the pics here to show that there are those who have an interest in stretching bugs, so possibly, it's not just AI.
That flap in the upper rear could be the edge of a rag top sunroof cover as seen in some of the pics in this search.
