Just wondering if any readers have knowledge or interest in the photogravure process, for lack of a better way of putting it at this moment in time or space, and the necessity and process necessary for printer conversion, along with the How to or DYI. Hm?

Designed and implemented the first commercial digital interface to the K193 Heliokllishograph machine circa 1980. Worked on the preliminary systems necessary to convert film to digital to cut digital cylinders. Have a patent (now expired) with a couple of colleagues on a color corrector used to convert film color spaces to print color spaces. Later did similar things for offset printing.

Do you have a specific question?

I am doing Photogravure. Bet bet is to take a course. Check our Clay Harmon or his blog. He does courses now and again. Maine Media also they are having a 5 day Introductory Photogravure Course at the end of July into August.

I recently put out a query here if there was any interest as was basically told to go fly a kite.

There is a Photogravure group on FaceBook.

If you do polymer photogravure you can print directly on the plate after you have calibrated your printer. This can be quite involved and unless you are a techie and willing to get into the nitty gritty of making custom curves and purchasing a number of ancillary programs you should not pursue this.

[quote=burkphoto]But have you heard of a band called The Warning?

Their website: http://www.thewarningband.com

The TIDAL Rising documentary about The Warning https://youtu.be/s7iQG0ug4HI?si

At ages 9, 12, and 14, in 2014, they went viral on YouTube with a cover of Metallica's [b]Enter Sandman[b]. A decade later, Paulina just won Drumeo's Rock Drummer of the Year, 2023 Award. They will play to already-sold-out crowds in Europe this summer.

Their live concert videos are pure fire. Check them out on The Warning Youtube channel. This is a masterpiece sampler of their work:

I received a Malware Warning when I went to this site: "Their website: http://www.thewarningband.com

Not a damned thing. I was responding to the original poster, originally, about music, since he mentioned Aerosmith to ZZTop.

Sorry, but it's the way of the Internet that randomness happens.
