New Way to look at my local park.

For my birthday I bought a Nikon D-300s that has been converted to IR. I don't know what exactly the filter is that was used for the conversion. I don't know much about IR; and I think it is going to be a steep learning curve; but I'm intrigued to figure things out. These are my first attempts and I think I am going to have to do some youtube research to figure out how to process these images. I think I'm going to like the way IR comes out in black and white. Very high contrast and dark skies. Reminds me of a red filter on black and white film.

Congratulations, Erich! IR has always intrigued me. There are a couple of folks on UHH who have shared photos and information. If I can remember their user names, I'll let you know

Always fun to learn new techniques and different types of photography. The second one for me is the best of the three. I can see you going out and photographing the everyday and coming home with some unique photos.

The B&W image is beautiful. I tried a little IR using a filter, a camera conversion is 10 times better, you have proven that here.
Good purchase Erich.

Processing is more of a trick than I thought it would be. But we love challenges, don't we?

Should really be fun when the bright green leaves of spring make an appearance. Thanks for taking a look.

I like the vivid whites (actually greens) of the black and white. I'm going to enjoy the monochrome maybe even more than the strange colors that come out through IR.
