Well, this winter has almost been a complete wash out when it comes to astro-imaging.
However, one did manage 4 short sessions dodging clouds & freezing temperatures.
So here we have the Heart & Soul Nebula within the constellation of Cassiopeia
1st night 50frames @ 120s
2nd night 30frames @ 120s
3rd night 50frames @ 120s
4th night 50frames @ 120s

thanks to APT - Astro Photography Tool amazing alignment tool I was able tp lock on to the exact location over the four nights 😁

Great to see you, Marc!
Beautiful Heart Nebula!

Weather? What's that?
I'm under an "Atmospheric River".
I know I'm under it because it continues to dribble on me.
Holy crapoly.

Marc, Great shots of the Heart and Soul Nebula. I shot them too and had a great time with them. Funny, not to many people know of this until recently. I only heard of them about 5 years ago. RFB

Hi Bill

The Heart & Soul nebula have always been one of my favourites as well as the whole of Cassiopeia

TBH, there are lots of targets overlooked hence why I love to study constellations carefully for those hidden gems.
One gem in particular being Picketts Bell, unfortunately Orion is getting low on my horizon now

How do you like the Askar? I just got the 120mm f7APO with field flattener and f5.6 flattener and focal reducer.

I have both, the FMA 180mm v1 does suffer from halos without using uv/iv filter.
The v2 has apparently corrected this.
The 135mm is amazing. Ultra wide fields at 135mm & 40mm aperture.

I leave my 135 & guide scope mounted on the same side by side rail for quick fixing to the az/gti plate.
Attach the cams & cables and ready to power up in around 15mins.

At 135mm focal length PA doesn't have to spot on as guiding sorts things out.

Should the heavens open suddenly its just a case of disconnect cables, unscrew the saddle & place into bag, under a minute take down.

I will try to remember to take a shot or video of the whole set up
