Interesting situation. Someone posted a video of an emotionally disturbed naked woman screaming in a local town. As soon as authorities learned of the video, it was taken down. They are investigating to see if they can find out who posted it. As the police said, since the event took place in the public, criminal charges would not apply. It's good that public photography is protected, but people should use some discretion about what to post.

I have always thought people should be more thoughtful of other people's feelings (and rights?) than about their own "right" to publish a less-than-flattering image.

Some day we won't be able to take pictures with non-family in them...

I'm a fully licensed sUAS ("drone") operator. A common criticism is that they can be used for invasion of privacy. That's certainly possible, but completely unethical. I can do more "invasion" with a typical wildlife telephoto lens. Legal or not, either is completely unethical and plain wrong.

The key is "can be".

Ethics, morals, and scruples play a lot.
Something may people no longer have.

I remember reading about that incident in a news article.

I agree. Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

You are right in that it seems people no longer have ethics, morals and scruples. But, I don't think it may be that bad. There are 330 million people in the USA. If a million are bad actors and get lots of headlines, that leaves 329 million good people.

Thank goodness they are not the majority.
But one next to you is one too many there...

...and to what purpose was the "posting"? Was it prurient? Meant to embarrass the 'subject'? Meant to chronicle a chronic problem in that neighborhood with that person? Was it meant to show how long it takes to get the cops there? There are all kinds of reasons, some good intent, some bad intent....

Seems like more people are more interested in their rights as opposed to their responsibilities.
