The guy tossed the drone from a hill like you would a paper airplane, didn't go well for that drone.

My Mini 2 will launch if I toss it up after the props are started spinning. I never tried throwing it forward. My Mini 3 Pro is different. If you want it to launch, you have to push the left stick. Don't ask why I know.

I switched my controller to launch with the right stick, it’s what I’m more comfortable with. I have never tried to launch my drone in any other way but except from the ground on its own, I’m too scared. Ha ha.

I prefer to launch from the ground too. But, if it is sand, loose dirt, a little snow or unmowed grass, I have to have an alternative. A mat is good, but sometimes I don't have one. What's left is hand launching and retrieving.

I used to avoid FB like the plague. But I discovered the “groups”, such as this drone related one, and since then I check it out often. I have supplied minimal information, have only a handful of “friends”, never post anything personal, and my pic is not very identifiable. The only posts I do are comments in some of the groups, and those contain no personal info. I’ve blocked posts from some “friends” that insisted on me knowing what they ate, where they are, etc. I have zero interest in what they are doing or eating or whatever. I’ve turned off all FB notifications and such and that keeps me blissfully unaware of all that mess.

Meanwhile, there’s a lot of interesting stuff in the FB groups.
