The Rambler….for the same reason I had a 55 Oldsmobile 88 four door sedan.
I had a roadster, not that nice of course. Traded with Dave for his 57 Chevy 4 door

Hell, who made as far as the drive-in if the heat was on ? Any dark spot would do in a pinch.
Drive in was the safe place when you lived in the city

They may have their picks also. Think "broadly."
I graduated from high school in 1963. Unfortunately, my dad bought an ugly P.O.S. Rambler like that one, but in a pukey brown metalic color. Fortunately, I bought my own first car, a '61 Ford Galaxie with a large bench front seat and a huge back seat. Everyone wanted to double date in that car. Better yet, I later on bought my neighbors '62 burgundy Pontiac Catalina two door hardtop. Much cooler car with huge bench seats.

The Rambler, it has lay flat seats.
I had a girlfriend whose parents had a Rambler. Those layback seats were great on a date!
