I shouldn't be surprised that Leica and Hasselblad come in #1 and #2 best. However, I think the list is a little disingenuous, in that those two brands are likely not going to be on your average photographer's shopping list. A professional can amortize the cost, write off depreciation, and can justify the cost in many ways the amatuer, semi-pro and struggling-to-put-food-on-the-table pro can't.

It is a ranking of brand quality, not affordability.

Seriously? This is one guys opinion. And a guy who I don’t know. This “ranking” is sophomoric, subjective and frankly, silly and useless.

Edit - perhaps not so useless to Canon fanboys here who will gloat that Canon was higher on the list than Nikon. You know who I’m talking about😎

This is ranking based on nothing. Such rankings mean absolutely nothing. There are too many variables to measure and this includes so little information as to be useless. It is not worth the effort to post.

I was curious to see one writer’s opinion, but it’s likely not going to change anyone’s mind.

It certainly did not change mine. I am a Pentaxian and have been for many years.

The camera I have in my hand and am using is the best one. Maybe in the future some other brand will replace it, but for now what I have is currently the best. Use what you have and forget what someone else thinks is better.

Why be someone that gets hung up on a brand name? If you don't like what you are using, get what ever it is that you can afford and pleases you.

I think the "proof is in the pudding. If you want to know if a camera is a good one look between four corners of the photograph. I have seen many rankings where Pentax is down the list, but have heard damn few complaints from the folks who are using them.

Totally agree. A totally subjective view of one person based on no objective analysis.

My camera is the best brand because it uses lenses that fit the camera my wife bought about 50 years ago.
