Osprey... Which head pose?
I can't decide which pose looks best... Help!
Why try to choose? They each have their own merit.
I like one and four the most but kpmac has hit the nail on the head.

Do the little animation thing where the photo moves; the head turns round.

A magnificent quartet, and any of them really show this guy in a fantastic light

I tend to lean toward images where your subject is communicating with the viewer. # 1 does that. But it's also nice to convey a behavioral trate, like curiosity, which # 4 seems to show. Those would be my choices.

Firstly, these are all great images! Final selection is highly subjective and dependent on use of the image. If this is for a photo contest rather than for personal display, you might choose differently.
The differences between the four are eye contact, shadows, beak showcase, and head orientation. The first image is the best for eye contact with the viewer. However, both the first and second images have strong, obvious shadows present in the face of the bird. IMHO, the head orientation of the bird is poorest in #4 (although some may think otherwise). Images 2, 3 and 4 really showcase the beak of the Osprey, whereas #1 does not.
Therefore, my choice is #3 (but only if shadows are considered a primary detractor). If shadows do not concern you, then #1 or #2.

Bubba
Great set! They are all wonderful.
Nice shots! They work very well as a series, but if I had to pick.... number 4.
