The term genocide is being thrown about in Israel's attack on Gaza. Consider, however, that in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, 1178 military personnel were k**led. In the Hamas attack on Israel, 1200 Israelis were k**led. FDR called Pearl Harbor "A Day that will live in infamy." The U.S. went on to mount a major war that ended up k*****g hundreds of thousands of mainland Japanese before Japan surrendered. The firebombing of Tokyo itself k**led more than the atomic bomb k**led in Hiroshima. Just a thought as to how to view Israel's war on Gaza.

Well they should have considered the consequences before they undertook their aggressive action. To bad for them if they get their asses handed to them. It is a religious war , Islam's goal is to wipe out infidels. They have sworn to wipe Israel off the map. There are no civilian Muslims. Organized religions are notoriously biased and will never meet in the middle, it's their nature. To bad the earth could be such a nice place if they could stop fighting long enough to figure it out.

I have never subscribed to the idea that the Israeli government is bent on genocide of all Palestinians. That mean k*****g then all.

I do , however , believe the Israeli Government ( at least the one in power
Now) want all Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank . Ideal want the land . Make no mistake the Israel’s care nothing about international law. They would take it in a heartbeat. Evidenced by the long term post war view of Gaza by the Israeli government.

That may happen, but not with the result of the land being of any use. With 400 miles of tunnels under Gaza cities, there won't be much left of Gaza when they get done destroying the tunnels. They've already destroyed a lot of buildings bombing the tunnels. As they destroy them, they will be undermining a lot more buildings, which if they aren't destroyed in the moment will be unsafe as the ground below them becomes unstable. In addition, they are starting to flood tunnels with sea water. This may have an impact on ground water, as sea water leaches into the aquifer. Gaza relies on ground water, and this may destroy the ground for both living and farming.

I don't think they necessarily want the land, but they do want Palestinians out of Gaza. There is no way to trust that Hamas won't return once the IDF leaves.

The paradigm may well be Rome vs Carthage. K**l as many as you can, level the buildings, sew salt into the land.

Your number includes civilians, which is ok. If you'll look at my statistic it included military personnel only.

You're right, what it took the Japanese an entire fleet to k**l 2403 people, Hamas was able to conduct their attack with hang gliders. Either way, it was Israel's Pearl Harbor.

I guess that would make the U.S. and its allies in WWII war criminals since they carried out war in much the same way after assuming similar losses.

You're not making sense here, Tex. The war could end very easily with the surrender of Hamas. That's one thing that Fetterman got right. Israel is making every effort to avoid civilian losses. In WWII, we did not. Dresden and Tokyo come to mind.
