Honduran white bats I will have a few more I have not gotten to yet.
They are one of a handful of bats whose fur is completely white.
They create tents by biting through the ribs of tree leaves.
They only eat the fruit of one type of fig tree.
They have a yellow nose, lips, and ears because carotenoids, the pigments that give carrots their orange color, are deposited in these areas of the bat’s body.
They are typically 3-4 inches long, with a wingspan of 8-10 inches, and weigh between 0.5 and 1 ounce.
They are insectivores, and they primarily eat moths and beetles.
They typically live in forests, caves, or old mines.
Wow, loved seeing the white bats, Beth. Beautifully composed and presented set. You succeeded in making bats look cute.😊

Very nice. I’ve never heard of them before.
Interesting, and nice photos of them.
Superior work, Beth. And also educational as well. I, too, have never heard of this breed of bats before.
