These Bald Eagles are not happy to see the Red Tail Hawk encroaching into their space. The photo is not super sharp as the eagles were quite a distance away (175-200 yards), but you can still see that they are quite upset. This is a mating pair that nests along the York River and occasionally visits the town dock where they are in the first photo. The other photos are of the same eagles but they are closer as they are in their nesting tree. Hope you enjoy. In case you’re wondering, the photos were taken with a Nikon D850 and a Tamron G2 150-600 lens.

Yep! Tough to get sharp photos from that distance. I like them. I'm thinking the Hawk knew he wasn't welcome!
Well done, Doug! #1 captures the drama.

Why can't we all just get along?

Still more great view, bad shot. Was ISO 3200 really necessary for a subject not in motion?

No, that high an ISO was not necessary for a stationary subject. However, it often happens that the eagles take off without warning and I wanted to be ready to catch some eagle BIF shots as I did today when I went back. In fact, I rarely take photos of the eagles sitting in those far away trees. I go to catch them flying. I only took those photos because of the hawk.

Every darned time I see shots of an eagle, I also immediately see Mister Potter from "It's a Wonderful Life" 😒😁😉

Excellent timing and catch! Well done! And…. thanks for sharing!
Thank you all for taking the time to comment on the photos. I’m hoping to get some shots when they’re a bit closer. In any event, they are fun to see and watch.
