I was driving behind a Rivian truck yesterday. I had never heard of that brand. It seems very risky to buy a new brand of EV. Even the big-name car makers are having trouble selling their EVs

I guess you're in NY. Here in Dallas, TX I saw quite a few of them here. I think Tim Cook (Apple CEO) has one of the Rivian trucks. Here in Texas EV are very common.

I have seen the Rivian trucks and the Ford F150 Lightning but I haven't seen the Tesla Cybertruck yet.

Everything is SO beautiful, until you get to the price! $94,000 and up is a little steep for 90% of the people.

They are all over the place in Bloomington-Normal, IL where there is a plant. Just like you used to see GM's, Fords and Chryslers in Detroit. Brave new world, but not that new.

I do not dispute what you say, and, it may well be a great automobile, but I still say that the PRICE, is WAY out of the reach of most people!

At least it looks like a normal pickup truck.

Those look rather normal. I was talking about the Tesla Cyber Truck design.

I agree - too much for me, but so were cell phones,
handheld calculators and computers. Time will tell.

I see Teslas, Range Rovers, Jeep Wagoneers, and many other expensive cars in large quantities as we drive the TN-FL, TN-IL, and TN-TX roundtrip treks each year.

There's a cognitive disconnect (dissonance) to see all these expensive cars on the road, yet hear those same people complain how bad the economy is for them.

Competition should bring prices down.

Oh well $90,000 is a lot but a gasoline power pickup truck could cost the same.

The Cybertruck is still "in development."

The first delivery was on 11/30/2023 but for most of the orders they won't be delivered yet. But no more development. There are videos showing cybertruck involved in accident.
