While at the Snake River I took these photos of where I usually stand to fish, the floating pier. The pier photo is looking South and the bridge photo is looking North. It was a cold grey gloomy day to be out.

Thanks very much Mike. I appreciate your fine comment.
It is 35 today but with a biting wind to go along with it. It is warming up for next week though.

Looks COLD Dennis! Do you catch fish here this time of year?

Thanks Chief. I appreciate your comment.
It is hard to say because last week the temperature was sometimes close to zero or below zero. I wasn't out there. But fish can be caught in the coldest weather if you put the bait, lure or fly right in front of them. Fish are lazy especially in very cold temperatures. They will stay in one spot and wait until the bait is right in front of them and then take it. In warm weather they might chase a lure or fly to bite it. Not so much in cold weather. I guess I am saying when I go to the same place in a week or so I may very well catch something provided I get my bait to where a fish is waiting for me.
The other problem is, from the photo you can see the ice is right up against the floating pier. Except for a patch of open water to the right of the pier there is no place to cast out into the water and retrieve a fish. A few weeks ago I cast out into the river and my lure caught on an ice flow. I could do nothing but watch the ice flow down the river taking my $7.00 lure, a gold Kastmaster, right with it. OUCH to my wallet I thought.
If you are ever in the area please stop by with a fishing rod (or I have quite a few you can borrow) and we will give it a try in a number of different places for a couple of days.

Yes it could. All that is needed is you and or you and your lovely wife. Does she fish? If so it would seem she is definitely a keeper. Of course she is most likely a keeper even if she does not fish.
That little floating pier is a pretty good spot to fish from. I have caught up to a 4 pound rainbow from that pier.
