I responded to a recent post about mouse traps and it made me think about a problem we had last fall.
We've never had an issue with gophers here in 30+ years.
Last year 3 new homes were built or remodeled on the street behind us.
All of a sudden there were gophers all over the area.
We have all tried all of the various traps and methods to rid us of these pests, mostly to no avail.
I mentioned this to a friend who has fruit trees who recommended an incredible solution.
I wanted to share the amazing thing he told me about. It is called the
GopherHawk.
This trap really works. It takes a little patience to find the right spot but then it is a done deal.
The company offers free shipping and is happy to talk on the phone and offer help.
Here is a video from
Marshall Almond Orchards and another on
Moles.
It is also available on Amazon.

I can see a full time job setting and moving traps and taking a mortgage on the farm to buy enough traps to control the problem.
I wish I still had my Ferrett
A few years ago I had gophers in my yard. I used solar powered sonic spikes to drive them away. They worked like a champ. The gophers haven't been back since.
I just let the gophers do what gophers do. What's the problem with leaving wildlife alone?
I love it! I had moles last year and the exterminator charged $400 to lift sections of the front lawn and bury some kind of poison.
