A friend and I drove to a Snake River boat launch area where I have caught some nice trout and seen a number of Bald Eagles on a regular basis, regular as in every time I go there. We just wanted to see if the ice would stop us from fishing. We found out we were not going to be fishing anytime soon. But I did take my Sony RX10IV just in case a photo opportunity would present itself.
My old friend, a Bald Eagle was sitting on his usual perch atop an electric pole and looking right at me as I exited the truck from a bit over 100 yards away. Normally I can get a couple of photos and he decides to leave the area. This time he just sat there while I took numerous photos and continued walking closer to him. I got to just across the road from him and he still did not fly. I am only including a couple of the best photos of the eagle for your perusal.

Thank you Mike. Occasionally they are a no show here and other places as well. I wonder if there are maybe only 10 Bald Eagles across the country and they take turns showing up here and there for our amusement.

Wow! Very sharp!
Thank you very much Chief. If I hadn't been with a friend who isn't very patient and who is not a photographer I would have taken my tripod. Hopefully next time I will take the tripod to see how sharp I can get and the eagle will cooperate and continue sitting there.

Thank you very much Joe. That is the impression I get every time I see the face of a Bald Eagle, Don't piss me off. I try my best to not piss one off too.
