Many shots had me really working with ISO and shutter speed.
The first is a Crested Owl that was deep in the woods. I ended up with ISO 5,000 1/125 and F7.1 at 500mm hand held. There were 2 birds, but one was really obstructed.
We were in an area where the background was in deep shade and when the sun came out, at least a little we could get the nice back background.
Not the best ever, but one of the few shots without a branch in the way!

Another great set Beth, glad you included your camera settings
Very nice, Beth. Your handiness with your camera seems to know no bounds. The tanager is beautiful.

Great shots. I particularly like the owl photo those leaves make for a natural vignette..

It was quite the learning curve with the darkness and bright light at times as well. The ISO was something to deal with!

I will especially when there is really high ISO or something.

Yes, I liked this best for that reason. I do have shots with both and will share, but the branches just made it all messy!
