Time Settings on Canon G’s

Whenever I remove the battery on my Canon G5-X and G16 Powershot cameras, I need to reset the mm/dd/yyyy time setting including the time zone and daylight savings time. This situation has occurred only after a number of years of use. So, how do I get the time settings to stay in the camera if the battery is removed temporarily?

I know nothing about your camera but some have an internal battery that saves that info while you change the main battery.

These Canon cameras must have internal batteries since they kept the time settings for many years, but suddenly stopped.
