I believe I posted this image before but not in digital artistry, and it was in full color. I am not sure it qualifies as digital artistry but I wanted the colors to pop a bit more by converting the background to B&W. Can't wait to learn what you are thinking. . . .
You ask if it qualifies for this section, I looked up the rules: "photos that have been significantly modified either by in-camera technique or photo editing software." I think your image fits, "colors to pop a bit more by converting the background to B&W." In this image, you significantly changed the background and kicked the colors to high saturation.
You have made a bold image that we have all seen in the fall of the year. With your changes we can not ignore the strong simple "it is fall and the leaves are becoming colorful" statement.

I am pleased that you like the outcome of my experiment.
I think your edit works really well because of the luminance of the leaves and their prominence in the frame. The out of focus background is perfect for emphasizing the setting while not detracting from the subject.
We're pretty open-minded in Digital Artistry right now, including encouraging creativity that is more with the camera (such as intentional camera movement). So please keep on coming in!
This is a really pleasing composition to look at and very relaxing to just sit back and view.

I'm not always a fan of selective color; but I think you should try to have an open mind about everything, so this image gave me a chance to see a selective color image that I think really works. Well done.
