She says she's been using a Mac for 15 years and you suggest a Windows PC?
What is the point of that? Seriously? Are you trying frustrate her or playing a cruel joke? Maybe you like Windows and think everyone would be better off if they used Windows? In your defense I doubt you meant any harm. But considering her history, without even asking about her computer skills, it was a bad recommendation.
This is not about Mac vs PC blah blah blah. I don't care, use what you like best. But be mindful in general, most people, are not power computer users, programmers, or engineers. They are not extremely computer literate. They use the computer as a tool. OS Updates are bad enough, they don't want to have to learn a whole new way of doing things when buying a new computer.

Truth spoken! I quit advising people to switch platforms a long time ago.
I used Mac and Windows systems in my office daily for 26 years. I was fully conversant with both, but plenty of folks around me were afraid of one or the other.
Humans are creatures of habit. Moving from one platform to another is hard! First you get confused when things work differently. Then you try to make one platform look like the other. Then you curse the new one for not being like the old one. If you give it enough time, you get used to it, and then you don't care.
The most difficult thing to do is to take a new platform for what it IS, not for what it is NOT.
These days, I'm on the Mac, because of the Apple ecosystem of nearly identical and compatible applications that work across iCloud on both my iPhone and Mac.

Thank you and More truth spoken by you!! I resemble all those remarks. LOL.
I use multiple systems at work. Still working at my age. Sheese. These days I prefer macOS but I will be happy to help people with whatever system they are using.

So we have 3 pages of replies/advice. Yet not one more posting from the OP with requested or relevant info.
Why?
Good point. Thank you for pointing that out. Unwatching now.

I would never buy a Mac myself but I recommended the Mac Studio and the Studio Display based on what she said.
This is very common and most annoying thing with the UHH. Someone post a question but will not answer any question asked. It seems that if you ask the person who asked the original question that is considered an insult.

Among the thousands of folks who read UHH, there is always someone who is insulted when someone else tries to help them.
Thanks everyone for all your advice. I appreciate so much!
